Today we are building a steel stanchion to hold 32 solar panels. Our solar power system fully powers our off-grid home and with the addition of these 20 extra panels we will be able to power our home on a cloudy winter day as if it was a sunny summer day. We expect this stanchion build to go more smoothly than the first since we have "been there done that" however, we run into a small snag when we incorrectly measure the hole we dug for the steel pipe last week. We need to correct the issue quickly and move on so we can get the concrete poured before nightfall and the next incoming snowstorm.

We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.

Our house build is documented entirely on our main channel "Wild Wonderful Off-Grid" and our family life vlogs can be found on our secondary channel "Wild Wonderful After Show"
What mounting system is this?
Holy smoke that's all lot of deer! So the concrete creates enough internal heat as it cures so it doesn't freeze?
Erin is legit strong. Those 80 pounds bags are so awkward to lift.
👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹
You Tell Him BABE...
Dam she is beautiful!!!
We are just starting out, our channel is Heartbreak Ridge Homestead. Do you have any pointers for us?
Whtat is the name of those steel pipe coupling ?
Loving this project!
Where do you get the pipe and fittings you are using? I like the design
Молодцы ребята, очень большие молодцы!!! Главное дружно!
My Fav quote about the pipe "I cut it twice and it's still too short"
สวัสดี ครับ 😘😘😘
Do you only have solar panels or do you still have a generator?
HUSBAND AND WIFE WORKING TOGETHER AND ENJOYING THEIR TIME TOGETHER.....ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!LOVE THE VIDEO GUYS!!!!
Erin looks like a Gnome the way she wears her WWOG stocking cap. You need to wear your stocking caps the way Gnomes do for marketing purposes and for turning it into your own sales gimmick. Pity the weather cannot be more cooperative for you. You need to always lift with your legs and not your back. I reckon 24 yanks on that mixer cord is a charm, you think? Maybe you should have let Erin do that. Two or three pulls are suppose to be plenty, maybe you need a carburetor prime or at least soak your air filter in gasoline before you start it again after such a lengthy storage, you think. That is a lot of work for that particular job without throwing your back all out of whack in the process. Great video, you two. Namaste. 🙏🏻🖖☯️
Another informative video well done.
The way she calls him Boss is so funny 😂
Great video!
Could you have taken out some of the stone with the post hole digger instead of re-cutting the pipe ? Just thinking ? Plus with the ground so wet just empty the bags of concrete into the holes and it will pull the water / moisture from the ground and actually be much stronger ?
Hmmm, you need to invent battery powered channel locks!!!
'More, more, MORE!!!' Don't ya just love it...working in the snow? Ever tried cutting a hole in the mixer's pull cord cover and starting it with an impact wrench? Let me know. Thanks for sharing guys. Stay safe and keep up the good work. 👍🖖😎🐶🦴😺
You guys sure do work good together. You picked a good name "Wild Wonderful ______" for your site. God Bless.
Hi Josh and Erin, you two are the greatest. Erin, please look after yourself. Picking up cement bags etc. are not good for your health. While you are young, you don't realize what you are doing to your body but when you are older, you will know about it. Save yourself from it. Your co-operation in all the projects are phenomenal. I admire both of your determination to do everything 100 percent. I enjoy your videos which are filled with love, laughter, fun and excitement. Love you guys.
What a team well done guys!!
I've moved to odysee, catch you there one day.
Take care! We are also on Rumble so you can find us there as well 😊
Karını vitrin olarak kullanman hoş değil
Katy Wompus, I believe I've never heard that one before!😂😂👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
Вы молодцы ребята!!! За то что всегда вместе всё делаете!!! Здоровья вам и вашим близким!!!
I know first hand that job was not easy. Respect to you guys.
Set all those up right pipes level and plumb first then bolt all the horizontal pipes in a few days. Much easier...
Wow, what an ending. Y'all really worked a long hard day. It just can't go on long enough for me sitting here at home watching. Warm up time now I see! L8R Guys
Emt couplings?.won’t the concrete eat through the conduit? Might want to use corrosion tape.
The pipe is rigid and the couplings are threadless rigid couplings!
Amo muito os vídeos de vocês! Muito bom.nossa como vocês são legal! Beijos Bahia Brasil 💋 💋 ✌
Hi there. I'm wondering, how did you guys learned about house building? I'm new around here so I apologize if you already answered this question in another video.
@S. Michael DeHart aka WVUmounties8 He is a journeyman not a master
Josh is a Master Electrician. He's been around construction all his adult life.
Get that boy some gloves! Brrr
Love seeing Bruce again...but need more!!!
Are you concerned about goats trying to climb it?
I use Sta- Bil in my engines when I put them away. Also tou can spray a little WD-40 into the cylinders to ensure the piston doesn't seize, plus WD-40 will burn when trying to start the engine.
For that low stanchion what I would have done would be to attach the stanchion to the pipe and level the pipe by supporting it on each side of the stanchion. I would have then poured the concrete and let it set, then removed the supports holding the pipe.
Are you pouring concrete at subzero temperatures ? Won't the water shift in your mix after it's cast ?
The ground wasn't frozen. Above ground temp was 35degrees. Our holes are 50" deep. After pouring concrete we left about 6" open to fill with dirt to ensure nothing would freeze
Yeah!!! Team work make the dream work👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾👍👍👍👍🥃🥃
I may have missed it in a previous episode but what is the story behind the big red star on the barn?
Gee it looks cold there you guys work bloody hard aye, well done ,those solar panels are going to be cyclone proof ,do you get big winds up there?
yay!!! 800,000 subscribers!!!!
Suggestion: once concrete drys, remove electrical couplings and weld horizontal pipe together.
Whoa you have a herd of 🦌 deer. Lots of good jobs going on. God bless
thank you ive enjoyed every moment w ith you guys
Sea-Foam, Walmart sells it. Just pour it in and NO MORE carb problems. If it uses gas or diesel at my place it has it in it. Even my gas jugs have it in it. A product that WORKS. I put it in my chain saws, weed-eaters, boat cars everything and I have had no problems starting or running. It removes moisture, stabilizes fuel, cleans carbs and injectors, and more. I have gotten so many to use it I SHOULD get a commission on all of it they sell. TRY IT jimbo
Josh, have you thought of adding a 24 inch led light bar facing front and one light bar facing rear on top of rops on tractor, great for night work or dusk time of day.
They say that without sacrifice you cannot appreciate life. You are living proof of that. I love your dedication, your effort, your perfection to make sure everything is well and functional. You are undoubtedly an example to follow. Thanks for sharing these moments with us. Greetings from Portugal.
Wow! What a long day! Awesome work, as usual. You definitely inspire us.
Aurrera, ya pasara el temporal, a descansar un rato que os lo merecéis. Agur
Because ...13:25 ... "to keep it all nice and stiff" ... works much better.
Nice work you guys!
I am curious why you used Black pipe gas line in this project versus using EMT all the way? Just a thought that threaded EMT 10’ with threaded couplings for horizontal stability versus compression couplings which have no horizontal stability. I would also think the three combinations of metals would need insulators in between them to prevent oxidation.
You can’t thread EMT
Getting it done🥰💐
Wow
Девушка просто красотка
You guys must ACHE after a hard day! 👍
PRIVET!
Great to see how you two work so well together.
I have had a electric concrete mixture I got tired of jumping the concrete into a wheelbarrow so I made a shoot or it show when I dumped it out it went straight to where it was supposed to go to I attached the shoot to the machine under Neath even though all of the concrete did not go into the place I still just had to rake it into the hole
Its a pleasure to watch you guys working because you use the right equipment for the job and you have a vocal safety conscience on the job :-)
You ran it out of gas but forgot to run it out of cement! Great Content!!
josh next time by industrial scaffolding pipe build a frame then drop sand bags at the bottom of the pipe cross pieces to act as counter weight so the storm would not blow it away i dont want to see erin lifting anymore bags she was a cancer patient put a f ing table next to your mixer erin too sweet and soft we are the beasts and animals to do that type of jobs takecare of your woman
Well done you guys, both such hard workers. Great to get that concrete in before the new snow.
I would like to have seen you thread the pipe and attach the sections with a threaded coupling instead of a slip on . It would be MUCH stronger.
.
She has a nice body
Oh how I love these vids of you working on the farm.......... well ok the solar system............ but you know what I mean..... LOVE seeing your animals and you interacting!!
A woman like that, Big Strings !!!!!!
for the second time in a row at rehab I took 15 steps in my walker, coming back soon. you guys give me power watching you build and overcome problems and take care of your beautiful family. I love it, positive attitudes, go for it type action, that's me too. I will walk again and you guys will do anything that presents itself to make your mission complete. Aloha Nui Loa from the Big Island.

Greetings from Denmark.
I would have felt better with a show of Josh spraying out the bucket of the tractor! My dad never let concrete dry on tools, wheelbarrow or the mixer! Lol! Another well shot and edited video Erin!
Did she get her back rub?
The callous care preferably afford because debtor comparatively guard astride a unequaled softball. accurate, xenophobic currency

Is Bruce a steer, and, if so, does that mean you're planning on eating him someday? That would just seem odd. Probably delicious, but odd, cause he's a cool guy. :D
geetings form germany. i have a offgrid solar powered home too i watch your vids from the beginning, great build
Well lot of work even snow dd come back y'all dd great and don't be under at anything out do it doesn't pay to , like your video , thanks you for sharing 😇💖🇮🇱😊🇺🇸
Parabéns, uns dos melhores canal que vi até hoje, conteúdo muito bom de excelente qualidade. Obrigado por compartilhar conosco 👏👏👏
That lowest front post ain't to far from the ground. Do ya think there's a possibility that some time, Bruce or Leon; or even one of their pals might try to hop up and go for a walk on your solar panels thinking it's some kind of ramp for them to try out? A protective wire fence wouldn't block the sun. Just a thought.
Erin and Josh, the day I had ... and then to come home and be able to watch yall. It may sound corny to some, but I needed it.
Hi Guys nice video
"Too short and then too long." Wish we all had that same problem! I work up this morning with a cold after watching you work into the night! Thanks!
There is something so gratifying watching you both work side by side to accomplish a project. Your example is one to follow.
That end shot was probably one of the best I’ve seen in here yet. Well done.
0:40 - oh what a babe.
Likefrom 🇧🇷❤☺🖒😊!!
You two are like worker bees! Non stop!
And how many years will it take to pay off the loan for all that stuff? By the time, you pay off the loan, the panels no longer have a warranty and a hail storm, well, back to the bank for more funds.
@Michael Wyllie the good thing about hating, it doesn't cost you anything.
Haters gonna Hate
Actually we are debt free and have built our house and solar system with cash as we have gone along. No loans here 😊🙌 For our particular situation the cost of our initial solar install was the same as the cost for us to get electric run up here so we went with solar so the amount of time it would take to recoup that cost was irrelevant. Then we added an additional 20 panels and 2 charge controllers neither of which are super expensive additions... Especially considering we can do the work ourselves rather than pay someone.
You Guys are just fun to watch. I like that you post often. Watching you is one of my best Times. I don't watch TV just Movies and you guys! I hope these videos bring in a good dollar to help you guys. Bless you and your lovely Family! You are doing everything Right!
I enjoy all of your videos. Some I even watch 3 or 4 times D.C. SoCalif 2-9-2021 👍
That’s really nice how y’all have things setup. Weather has been brutal out here.
I want to know why anyone would 'thumbs down' any of their videos?
Jealous
Josh and Erin please build me a house!!!!
